The handover ceremony of “the Project for Rehabilitation of Sports Center in Mostar for Community Reconciliation through Sports Activities”

On October 9th, in Mostar, the handover ceremony of“the Project for Rehabilitation of Sports Center in Mostar for Community Reconciliation through Sports Activities” was organized by Mr. Ljubo Beslic, Mayor of the City of Mostar, with attendances of Mr. Nobuo Kishi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Kazuya Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan in BH, both representing the Government of Japan, Mr. Josip Brkic, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nevenko Herceg, Prime Minister of the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Mr. Tomislav Martinovic, Mr. Hasan Sisic, President of the Sports Association of the City of Mostar, Mr. Ivica Osim, a former coach of the Japanese national football team, and Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in BH.  In the ceremony, Mr. Kishi mentioned his expectation that the children, who will build future of the country, will nurture their friendship through sports by this project, and will become a bridge between different ethnic groups. Mr. Brkic and Mr. Beslic expressed their appreciation for the Japanese assistance in this project. Mr. Miyamoto sent a video message to the ceremony. In this project, the Government of Japan donated EUR 226, 505 (approximately 443,000 KM) to the City of Mostar

Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series – Second Year in Mostar

Czech Michal Navratil and Canadian Lysanne Richard scored their second wins of the season at the iconic Old Bridge, a yesterday's stop of Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2016, being held for the second time in Mostar. Navratil is on a roll after his first ever win in Wales two weeks ago with another commanding display of diving from 27.5m, once again powering past reigning champion Gary Hunt from England with his final dive of the day. America's David Colturi secured the perfect send off in his farewell appearance before shoulder surgery, rising to his first podium finish of the season in third place. In the women's competition, Montrealer Richard leapt from fifth to first in the final round with the day's highest-scoring dive from 21.5m that just edged out Cesilie Carlton of the USA, while Australian wildcard Rhiannan Iffland

Mayor Bešlić Met Ambassador Hohman

Mayor of Mostar Mr. Ljubo Bešlić received today at the City Hall in Mostar, the Ambassador of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Ms. Christiana  Constanza Hohmann. Bešlić welcomed the newly appointed ambassador Hohmann, and thanked for the support that Germany provided to the citizens of Mostar in the past period, through various projects. The mutual wish for the continuation of the good cooperation, established during the term of her predecessor, was expressed and the need for strengthening economic cooperation, especially in tourism and launching projects for youth employment was emphasized.

Mr. Ljubo Bešlić and Head of the Delegation of European Union to BiH Mr. Lars Gunnar Wigemark

Today, the mayor of Mostar Mr. Ljubo Bešlić and Head of the Delegation of European Union to BiH Mr. Lars Gunnar Wigemark, together with the representatives of the World Bank, PIT implementing the project on the construction of wastewater treatment plant in Mostar, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, contractor - Greek company Actor, agency SIDA and representatives of Agency for Watershed of the Adriatic Sea visited the site near the bridge Franjo Blažević, where the plant for treatment of waste water is going to be set up. The value of the construction of the main sewage collector and waste water treatment plant is more than 23 million BAM, and the funds are provided through the GEF project, and with the support from the Swedish development agency SIDA and the European Commission.

Mostar marked European Mobility Week

With the opening of the regional office of the EU Info Centre and promotional cycling tour on Tuesday, Mostar marked the European Mobility Week, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to BiH and EU Info Centre MOSTAR. Head of Section for Political and Economic Affairs at the Delegation of the EU in BiH Jan Snaidauf, opening a regional office of the EU Info Centre in Mostar, said that this day is a special day for Bosnia and Herzegovina because the European Union today gave green light to BiH application for membership in the European Union, which is a new phase and level in the process of integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The path of European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina is what suits the needs of people of this country because people want changes and want to come closer to Europe, and we're just offering that because we're bringing Europe today, and here - said Snaidauf.

Workshops "EU Directives in the Field of Energy and Compliance with Local Regulations" and "Implementation of Energy Accounts - Reduction of Heat Loss in the Facilities"

The second set of workshops entitled "EU Directives in the field of energy and compliance with local regulations" and "Implementation of energy accounts - reduction of heat loss in the facilities" was held today. The first workshop is intended for management structures in public administration bodies and the other one for professional staff in public administration bodies. Workshops were held in the premises of the Mostar City Hall, in the presence of representatives of public administration, the City of Mostar, Neum Municipality, relevant ministries, the scientific community, and professional staff of public and private companies, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in the City of Mostar and HNC.Moderator of the workshop was Mr.Darko Knezović, team leader for the energy efficiency of the City of Mostar.
